Friend Fitness Program
Friend Fitness is a youth mentoring program designed to help students, grades 6-12, develop a strong work ethic, build mental toughness, and master goal setting skills.
Through intense weekly workouts kids discover what it takes to achieve their goals not just in the gym but in their academic, personal and social lives.
Students are primarily referred to the Program by guidance counselors, parents or other youth services. Our teens are dealing with significant changes in life circumstances, having difficulty connecting with a positive peer group, or experiencing problems with school attendance, academics, physical inactivity or behavior.
Offered free of charge and year-round, the goal of the Program is to provide kids with the strategies, skills and support necessary to successfully develop character, address their issues and realize their potential.
Workouts are typically 1 hour.

Friend Fitness is...
MENTORING:
Mentoring occurs both one-on-one and in groups.
INTENSE PHYSICAL FITNESS:
Meeting at local gyms, our students and mentors take part in a structured strength training and cardio workout - No physical abilities or past experience required!
FOCUSED GOAL SETTING & ACHIEVEMENT:
Goal setting is central to the mentor-student relationship and the growth of our students. Goals are set three times a year, focus on fitness, academic and/or social-behavioral achievement.
EARNED RECOGNITION:
A culture of high expectations, we celebrate “true” accomplishment. Students must “earn” recognition by achieving their goals.
POSITIVE:
From their first handshake and beyond their workout’s last exercise, mentors & staff encourage students to give 100% effort.
